On this occasion, HSH the Sovereign Prince was keen to unite the key figures and partners of his Foundation who have contributed to this decade of actions to promote environmental protection and sustainable development.
International personalities were distinguished for their exemplary commitment in the Foundation’s three priority areas for action:
· The “Biodiversity” award was presented to Mr Luc Hoffmann for his visionary approach with regard to the protection of biodiversity and the initiatives he has developed with the MAVA Foundation, the Tour du Valat Biological Station, WWF International and the International Foundation of Banc d’Arguin.
· The “Water” award was attributed to the Water Research Commission, represented by its Director General, Mr Dhesigen Naidoo, for the remarkable actions it has implemented in South Africa in sustainable water resource management.
· The “Climate Change” award went to Mrs Laurence Tubiana in acknowledgement of her outstanding commitment to the climate issue, from the creation of IDDRI to her active contribution towards the successful negotiations at COP 21.
“Year after year, thanks to your contribution and building on the experience of the members of its governing bodies, the Foundation has established itself as an organization recognized and respected for the quality of the projects it initiates. Together we can work to curb the issues weakening our planet’s environment and threatening its sustainability”, – said Minister Plenipotentiart, CEO and Vice-Président of the Foundation Bernard Fautrier.
