Children from Lviv draw electric future

LIMG_3406viv slowly turns into Ukrainian capital of electric cars. On May, 22, one of the largest pan-European rallies will start on Ploshcha Rynok – Electric Marathon 2016 Lviv – Monte Carlo. During two weeks the participants of the rally will cover the distance of over 3,000 kilometres, cross 10 European countries and visit 23 cities and towns, they will finish on June, 3, on Palace Square in Monte Carlo. The City of Lion also organised an artistic contest Electric Car of Future between pupils and attendees of kindergartens.

In the course of the contest young inhabitants of Lviv could draw their vision of the vehicles of future – electric cars. Except for the topic, nothing limited the phantasies of the young painters.

88 works took part in the contest, originating from 28 educational establishments of Lviv and Lviv Region.

The jury chose the winners. The first prizes were given to the following participants from various age categories:

– Viktoriya Stryzhko (5 y.o.) and Varvara Movchan (5 y.o.), studio of early aesthetic education “Ravlyk” of the Centre of artistic activities for kids and youth of Galychyna;

– Oleg Mukha, School #29 of Lviv;

“The future approaches rapidly, whether we want it or not”, says Andriy Bilyy, CEO Electric Marathon International. “We can only be glad that children of Lviv are ready to face it. Nowadays almost no one argues that the future belongs to the electric cars. Younger generation realises that like no one else. Lviv has always been at the core of changes – technical, public, cultural.

“Lviv has also made its input into the development of automobile industry”, says Juri Tamm, President of Electric Marathon. “There were only two cities in Europe, Lviv and Monte-Carlo, where at the beginning of the 20th century there were held circular races on municipal roads. Therefore it’s no wonder that Ukrainian electric car trend is also born and strengthens with active participation of Lviv inhabitants”.
