History

Electric Marathon isn’t just a unique competition of electric vehicles passing Europe from the North to the South, but it is also a revival of important historical rally Tallinn – Monte Carlo, conducted from 1930 to 1939.

After several years this bright and exciting tradition, unfortunately, came to an end, when Estonia was occupied by foreign troops and was separated from the rest of the world by the Iron Curtain.

In 2011 the historical tradition of European rally has been restored, but in modern way – the race of electric cars. The very first start of Electric Marathon was given by His Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco during his official visit to Tallinn. Since then, Electric Marathon is being held regularly – almost every year a starting place and a route are changed, but the finish point always remains the same. The fourth Electric Marathon will take its journey from Kyiv to Monte Carlo from 3 to 10 June 2015.
