Aalto University was founded in 2010 as Helsinki University of Technology, when the Helsinki School of Economics and the University of Art and Design Helsinki were merged. The main campus serves as a collaboration environment for around 11000 students and 4000 employees from wide variety of fields.
Our team represents two fields of technology: Ilpo Hämäläinen from the School of Engineering and Sami Pukkila from the School of Electrical Engineering. We both share the interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and as a proof of it, we are two of the founding members of the new Formula Student team: Aalto Formula Team.
And speaking of EVs, why are they important? The combustion engine cars have a well established infrastructure around the world, but the technology is outdated. It is overcomplicated and produces at lot of emissions. One step towards a sustainable transportation are the EVs, and what would be a better way to test this technology than to race through Europe with it.
Our commitment to protecting our climate remains unwavering. We recognize the critical need for everyone...
