The students of Tallinn University of Applied Sciences taking part in the electric car marathon rally say that the event will popularize electric cars among people. “People will see the electric cars and their charging process, there will be a rise of interest and they will start to research the cars more themselves,” they believe.

“No doubt that the marathon is also a place to demonstrate that it is possible to travel in Europe by the electric cars, not to mention – compete without violating the traffic regulations,” they added.

To make people give up the gasoline-powered cars entirely the awareness of the public and also the politicians should be raised on how good the current electric cars already are. “The engineers are working on improving the electric cars day by day, the infrastructure enabling the charging of the cars’ batteries is expanding as well,” the students noted.
